  Nearly 24,000 students in pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 are served by the Providence School Department in 42 schools, 4 annexes, 2 charter schools and 1 center for students with significant disabilities. Providence students comprise a diverse body with 63% Hispanic, 19% Black, 9% White, 5% Asian, 1% Native American and 3% multi-racial.
